You must be legally old enough to purchase cannabis.

Learning Learning
Move: Sativa varietals with plenty of THC and less CBD for a hit of energy that'll make you wanna move.
Lift: Sativa leaning varietals with more THC than CBD for an energized lift to creative or social affairs.
Balance: Hybrid varietals with an even'ish ratio of THC and CBD for seeking balance and harmony.

Calm: Mostly or all CBD with little to no THC to help reach a subtly relaxing or restorative place.
Rest: Indica varietals with plenty of THC and less CBD to gear down for some serious rest and relaxation.

WTF are THC and CBD?

These two super common abbreviations stand for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), two of cannabis’ main active compounds. The first is the psychoactive part of the plant and the other is not. It’s THC that produces those ‘high’ effects – sometimes stimulating, sometimes calming – while CBD eases anxiety and promotes relaxation without any psychoactive effects.

Sativa and Indica, and Hybrids oh my

A greener road to the Wizard of Oz. Strains are usually categorized with one of three terms: Indica, Sativa or Hybrid. To generalize: Indicas produce heavier highs with more sedative effects, and Sativas are noted for generating uplifting feelings that lead to creativity and socialization. Hybrids, which represent the vast majority of strains on the market, come from a cross breeding between the groups.

Do I need a prescription to buy cannabis?

No, you don’t need a prescription to purchase any of our products. In fact, as a “Recreational” store, we’re restricted from giving any medical advice.

What kind of ID do I need to show?

As per provincial law, all customers must display two pieces of valid ID and be of legal drinking age to enter our age-gated stores. Make sure you have one government-issued “primary ID,” such as a driver's license or passport, and one “secondary ID” that displays your name and signature or picture, like a credit or debit card.

What’s with the packaging?

We feel you on this one… Packaging and product come direct from the provincial distribution branch and we can’t mess with the materials or methods they use, so our hands are largely tied on the issue. The goal of all consumer-packaging regulations is to protect the consumer, and with cannabis being a controlled substance, there’s a specific focus on promoting responsible use and protecting minors. All packaging is recyclable, however, and can be dropped off at any Hobo store or other Terracycle program participants.

Can I buy Hobo cannabis products online?

We currently offer the option to pre-order online and pick up in-store at all locations. Delivery is also available at all Hobo Ontario locations. To place an order find your local Hobo store here and click view menu.

Why did you pick the name Hobo?

Language is important to us, as is dialogue. The term “hobo” dates back to the mid 20th century, when wanderers would stow away on freight trains to travel the continent, leaving symbols on window sills, door frames and walls as a way to communicate with their brethren. Our team fell in love with the word and the sense of wanderlust and journey it carries.

Do you sell edibles or topicals?

Hard (and soft, chewy) yes. Part of the early 2020 rollout of 'Cannabis 2.0' included concentrates like vaporizers, edibles like gummies and chocolates, topicals like creams and infusions like spiked sparkling waters. There wasn't a ton of choice in the market to start, but it's getting better and tastier every day.

Cannabis is a sticky subject and it can get wonderfully complicated in a heartbeat. So, for those who like to keep things simple, we’ve put together a ‘choose your own adventure’ style decision-tree. It’s roughly based on levels of THC versus CBD, factoring in high-energy giving elements like Sativa strains and low-energy like Indica. Consider it a slider bar for energy or intent. So slide on and bon voyage.
